Ekka 2009 - Animals

For my actual Birthday (I managed to stretch it out well hey!) we went to the Ekka. We saw lots of different Animals - the Baby Animal pavillion was really cool, because you can walk around amongst all the little animals.

Home Made Burgers

In an attempt to give Grill'd a run for its money, I made us some burgers for dinner one night.

For Janet, a Turkey Cheese Burger with home grown lettuce

For me a Vegie Burger- with tomato, baby spinach, cheese & onion (its an Eatwell Burger Patty)

The day before my birthday we had a delicious cake at work - it was a sponge cake with strawberry. YUM!!!!

We had a picnic lunch at Springfield lakes. Our sort of picnic - where you go to the shop and buy the food.....

I had Subway - 6 inch Vegie Delight on Italan Herbs & Cheese bread, toasted with swiss cheese. (no cucumber!)

Janet had a bacon & cheese pie from the bakery

and a jam & mock cream donut (yes, another one!)

Gnome Disaster

While Pam & Sid are away, we have been watering their garden every weekend. One Sunday their garden gnome had a little accident with the garden hose....

OOPS!

The Ambulance arrived

And administered first aid

Before rushing the gnome to hospital for surgery

After some bed rest, the gnome recovered nicely

And is now back at work minding the garden..

Grainwaves!!!

THis is the sight that had us jumping for joy in Big W - Grainwaves are now available in normal shops!!!! No longer do we have to search IGA stores in the hope they have some of the New Zealand ones. Everyone rejoyce!!! :-) :-) :-)

yes, after eating those mega burgers, we still found room for cake! A death by chocolate cake to be precise. It was gooooooood.

Grill'd - Rosalie

For my birthday I chose to go to Grill'd at Rosalie for lunch with my family. It was great. We had the biggest burgers you ever saw. And they tasted as good as they look!

Thick Chips with Grill'd Herb Mix (with herbed mayo) - they also gave us Tomato Relish & Sweet Chilli Mayo to try (sweet chilli mayo was the best!)!

bakery treats....

In order to get Janet's Jam & Mock cream donut craving out of her system, I stopped in at a bakery on the way home. (The bakery in the Westpoint shopping centre at Browns Palins - I'm not sure what it is called, but it was still open after 5, so that was useful!)

I of course got Janet the required Jam & Mock cream donut. It was reportedly delicious.

And for myself, an apple slice. I was a bit dissapointed with this. I think it may have been frozen. And there were some bits of skin still on some of the apple. Oh well, that will teach me for buying things from the bakery!

Sunday Dinner - Far East, Browns Plains

We grabbed some takeaway from "Far East" at Westpoint, Browns Plains. We were late home and I hadn't organised any dinner, so this was a lovely solution! Its a busy shop.

I ordered from the "noodle" menu. Although I didn't have noodles - I had steamed rice, Tofu, vegies in sweet Thai sauce. Delicious!

We also had some vegie spring rolls, which were excellent!
