Pizza!!! - Lawrences Pizza, Crestmead

We took Shadow for a walk around the Berrinba Wetlands and decided to make a detour to pick up dinner on the way home. For some reason I remembered that Lawrences Pizza is located in Julie St, Crestmead. Otherwise, we would have been driving around aimlessly for a lot longer than we did! (I love my UBD!)

We ordered 2 small Pizzas - $8 each, and waited outside with Shadow - a puppy makes passers by so much more sociable!!

I ordered (surprise!) a vegetarian pizza - minus the Mushrooms and Olives.  They gave me some extra pineapple to make up for this - bonus!! This was a good pizza - not too cheesy, and with a good spread of toppings - I would like the sauce to be a bit more flavoursome though.

And Janet got a meat lovers pizza.  Janet thinks that Lawrences Pizzas are the best, but  I am still in the Sicillian Pizza boat - I like their sauce and base a little more.

We each ate half a pizza, and popped the rest in the freezer for another day.

Red Rooster?

This is what Red Rooster gives you when you order a serve of roast vegetables. That tiny shrivelled up orange thing is supposedly a carrot. Next time Janet wants a Rooster Roll, I am getting my dinner from somewhere else!!

Pizza!! - Sicilian Pizza, Browns Plains

Well, we finally tried Sicilian Pizza - it is on the corner of Browns Plains & Wembly Roads, so we drive past here very often, but have only just now discovered what we have been missing!!!  These are the best takeaway pizzas I can remember eating since we were in Vancouver.

Whilst the actual shop is not much to look at, the pizzas are fantastic!!  There was a big selection on the menu - with photos of the uncooked pizzas accompanying the menu on the wall.

Janet had this meaty one -"Tutta Carne" ($14) - Ham, pepperoni, bacon, chicken, mozzarella cheese,  it was topped with a swirl of bbq sauce which was a popular addition. Janet did ask for bbq sauce on the base as well, but when we got the pizza home, discovered it had tomato sauce on the base, so next time we will be sure to be clearer with this request!

My selection was called "the Gourmet" ($14) and was topped "Strings of spinach, ricotta cheese, marinated eggplant, capsicum and semi sun-dried tomatoes" The ricotta was a great adidition that I havent had on a pizza before - made it nice and creamy, and cut through some of the saltiness

my plate!

These were nice large pizzas, - we froze quite a lot of it and ate them at a later date - they were even better after being reheated in the oven - such a nice, crispy base, and delicious toppings.

Foodcourt Dinner - Subway Grand Plaza

A 6 inch vegie delight on Parmesan Oregano bread, toasted with swiss cheese and honey mustard dressing (no cucumber, olives or jalepenos).  Miraculously they had the bread I wanted - the danger of going to the food court Subway on friday night is that they often have run out of bread. Sometimes all of the bread.  The KFC has the same problem - they run out of chicken!

Pe'Tza Pizza, Fedrick St, Boronia Heights

This shop used to be at Heritage Park, but has moved - we had tried it once before, but decided to give it another go one night when we were on our way home from the vet

I had a vegetarian pizza, with the addition of pineapple

Janet had a BBQ Meat lovers

The main problem with these pizzas is that they are majorly overloaded with cheese - apart from that, they were quite tasty. I would prefer a stronger tasting sauce also.  If you love cheese, then this is the pizza for you.  I wonder if they would allow a request for less cheese - mght have to try that if we go there again!

Foodcourt Lunch - Mt Ommaney

Since they have been renovating the Mt Ommaney shopping centre, they have put in a food court - with many more choices than their last effort!

I decided to try  Ali Baba Kebabs

I had a small felafal kebab, which was delicious! - they serve it in a box, which is a bit different - although you have to take it out to eat it.  The felafel was nicely crunchy on the outside, and for a small kebab, they certainly put a lot in it! Sweet Chilli & Hommus were my choice of sauce (as per usual!!)

foodcourt lunch - loganholme

Another weekend, another foodcourt! We were in search of some suitable attire to wear to a wedding, so we headed to the Logan Hyperdome. First stop was the food court for some lunch!

I tried a Vegie Pattie with Salad from Healthy Habits. THey tried to give me a chicken salad with my pattie, but I asked if they could just make a normal salad with some of the sandwich ingredients instead - I had lettuce, tomato, beetroot, carrot, onion amd some mayo. SOme sweet chilli sauce would have been nice on the Vegie Pattie also, but I didn't think of that until it was too late. Maybe next time, because I thought this was a great lunch - the pattie was very filling, and very tasty! And the salad was great too!

Janet happily had a Rooster Roll from Red Rooster - I always think these look too soggy, but Janet loves them

Food Court Lunch - Indooroopilly

When we were at Indooroopilly, as well as stocking up on too many donuts, we also had lunch in the food court - have to love a different shopping centre and a different food court!
Janet had Chicken Nuggets & Chips from Oporto - these nuggets are like flat strips of chicken, tather than the traditional nugget shape.

I finally tried Sumo Salad - I had half a felafel & Sweet Chilli wrap - quite tasty!

foodcourt dinner

On one of our Friday night shopping expeditions. I had the Vegie Burger Value Meal from Hungry Jacks. I don't love the Hungry Jacks Vegie Burgers, but they are the only ones available at Grand Plaza on Friday nights, so sometimes I get one. Usually when Subway has run out of bread.

they went a little overboard with the sauce on this occasion!

foodcourt lunch

Another weekend lunch at the food court at Grand Plaza.....

For me, some sushi.... (from the shop near the chinese shop, I can't remember its name, but its where I always buy sushi from, its NOT the actual Sushi shop that is also inthe food court)

vegetarian Sushi (with tofu, carrot & cucumber, I removed the cucumber before I ate it)

Avocado Sushi

and V. :-)

For Janet - a bacon & egg burger - from the Outback Carvery. It had sausage on it too, which was a pleasant suprise.

Rivers

We went on another little expedition to Riverlinks Shopping Centre. First stop was lunch!

I had another wrap from The Ozi Wrap shop. DELICIOUS!!!! They put any salad items on it that you want for no extra charge - EVERYTHING is included! Brilliant!!

I ate my wrap while Janet waited for her lunch to be made at the Bucking Bull shop

Janet had a Lime Milkshake

And a bacon & egg roll.

Since it took so long, when Janet's lunch was ready, I went and got myself some potato gems. Just because. I think they should let you buy just 5 only potato gems. That would get them out of my system. Not that I am complaining about having to eat a whole cup :-)

After lunch, we hit RIVERS! yay!!!!! I got some shirts and a pair of work pants YAY!!!! We love Rivers!!

picnic lunch @ Springfield Lakes

We had a picnic lunch at Springfield lakes. Our sort of picnic - where you go to the shop and buy the food.....

I had Subway - 6 inch Vegie Delight on Italan Herbs & Cheese bread, toasted with swiss cheese. (no cucumber!)

Janet had a bacon & cheese pie from the bakery

and a jam & mock cream donut (yes, another one!)

Sunday Dinner - Far East, Browns Plains

We grabbed some takeaway from "Far East" at Westpoint, Browns Plains. We were late home and I hadn't organised any dinner, so this was a lovely solution! Its a busy shop.

Janet had lemon chicken

I ordered from the "noodle" menu. Although I didn't have noodles - I had steamed rice, Tofu, vegies in sweet Thai sauce. Delicious!

We also had some vegie spring rolls, which were excellent!

Day at the Beach

It was such a nice day that we decided to drive down the coast. We began at Southport, where we had a walk, then we drove to Nobby Beach, where we had another walk, and a climb up some steep stairs, but we couldn't see anywhere close to buy some lunch for a picnic, so we drove a bit further to Burleigh, but I couldn't find anywehere to park the car, so we drove a bit further and ended up at Palm Beach, where there was heaps of parking and shops nearby. Perfect!!

We bought our lunch from this fish & chip shop. See whats next door???

Janet got the Fish & Chips

I had a vegie burger. A huge vegie burger. A delicious vegie burger.

We sat in a park right by the beach with only the seagulls for company. Perfect! And then, because I have been going on about wanting ice cream for weeks, we walked back to the shop and visited Cold Rock. Janet had double chocolate with cookie dough, and I had double chocolate with caramello koala. YUM!!!

We went back to the same park to eat it.

This was our lunch eating view.
Then we rolled ourselves back to the car and drove back home.

Foodcourt Lunch - Riverlinks

We went shopping at the RIverlinks shopping centre at Ipswich last weekend. They have a lovely big Rivers Clearance shop there. We love Rivers! We also love lunch at a foodcourt that has different options. We both bought our lunch from the Ozi Pide shop. I don't think thats its actual name. But I can't remember what that was. It sells Turkish bread pizzas and wraps. Everything on the menu is $7.90.

I was tempted by the vegie pizzas, but went for a salad wrap instead. It came with everything under the sun. Even avodado and cheese. Although I asked for no cheese. I had hommus and sweet chilli sauce. It was very big, and very delicious!!

Janet had the meat lovers pizza. Which also got the thumbs up. You can't really go wrong with Turkish bread, can you?

food court lunch

We popped into the Orion shopping centre at Springfield Lakes the other weekend and had some lunch while we were there. We had been to water Pam & Sid's plants and collect their mail. (better not collect the plants and water the mail!)

Janet had the 2 piece feed using a voucher we "borrowed" when checking the mail. They put all the food in a cardboard basket instead of stuffing it into a box like at Browns Plains.

I braved the kebab shop. And I am glad I did. Its been a while since I had a good felafel kebab. And this was a good one! It was from Origin Kebabs and I had it with hommus and sweet chilli sauce. It was nice and crunchy!

Home delivered Pizza!

One Thursday I was lazy and didn't feel like cooking, so we decided to order pizza for delivery. We usually just go there, order and pick it up, since its like 5 minutes down the road. We ordered online, which meant it showed us a timeline of where our pizza was up to. Until I shut the window by accident, and then we were left with no idea at all. After about an hour I rang to see what was going on, and was told our order had left the store. About a minute later, the guy arrived at our house. I think if we pick up, its quicker, cheaper and hotter. Pizza was still good though!

Janet's Meatasaurus.

I tried the new Feta Vegetarian pizza. Its meant to have grape tomatoes I think. Plus I asked for no olives, and the addition of pineapple, which obviously didn't happen. It was still good, but way too olivey for my liking.
