I went on a roughly 15k hike at Lamington National Park with a group of people from "In Shape Outdoors" We battled many many leeches, and some ticks as well, but we all survived - and didnt get lost this time!!

Picnic Lunch
This is our kind of picnc - the kind that involves stopping at the bakery on the way to the park!!
We called in at the Jason Lee BAkery at Westpoint shopping centre, Browns Plains and grabbed some lunch to eat at the Berrinba Wetlands
I got a Salad Sandwich. They were extremely generous with the grated cheese. It fell everywhere. I love bakery sandwiches because they are made with deliciously fresh bread!
Janet had a sausage roll - she is a big fan of the sausage rolls from this bakery.
Shadow had some leaves and sticks. And some lettuce that fell from my sandwich. She had a lovely time watching small children ride by on bikes
she also rather liked playing with this empty Coke bottle.

We bought some sliced white bread from the bakery, so I just had to make a delicious salad samdwich for my lunch - this one had Baby spinach, onion, grated carot, tomato, beetroot, not bacon and Spring Gully Green Tomato Pickle. YUM!!!

Picnic in the Rain
We went to a family picnic in Queens Park at Ipswich - it was raining, so a soggy sort of standing up under umbrellas picnic!. Janet & I bought our lunch from the cafe in the park. Surprise Surprise, I had a salad sandwich! - this one was served on a polystyrene tray and held together with a large wooden skewer! Thats a bit different! It contained all of the usual suspects - carrot, beetroot, lettuce, tomato and onion - and was quite delicious!

Bakery Morning Tea & Picnic Lunch - The Village Bakery, New Farm
We were wandering around New Farm filling in time before we went to see "The True Story Of Butterfish"
at the Powerhouse. So we stopped at The Village Bakery for some morning tea....
at the Powerhouse. So we stopped at The Village Bakery for some morning tea....
of course, Janet has a jam & mock-cream donut. which was good, but apparently still not as good as the one from the Merino Bakery in Longrach (and I am not driving back there just for a donut!!)
I tried a small apple turnover - which was rather tasty, and pretty much took care of the apple-pie craving I have been having!
For lunch, we called back in to the bakery to grab some food to take down to New Farm park to picnic with....
I had this rather massive Salad Sandwich. It was certainly filled to maximum capacity, with carrot, onion, beetroot, tomato & lettuce. YUM!!
Janet had this Bacon & Egg roll, with BBQ sauce

Foodcourt Dinner - Subway Grand Plaza
A 6 inch vegie delight on Parmesan Oregano bread, toasted with swiss cheese and honey mustard dressing (no cucumber, olives or jalepenos). Miraculously they had the bread I wanted - the danger of going to the food court Subway on friday night is that they often have run out of bread. Sometimes all of the bread. The KFC has the same problem - they run out of chicken!

Mad Hatter's Tea Party
Simon & Kristy's engagement party was a Mad Hatters Tea Party at New Farm Park. There were many fancily-dressed people! Most impressive with the costumes.... and the food was extremely plentiful!.....
cupcakes!
Lollies!!
There was even Fairy-bread!
many many delicious fresh sandwiches - Janet loved the chicken ones.
mmmmm. marshmallow, strawberry & chocolate kebabs!!
Fruity kebabs for a healthier choice (yummy!!)
A most spectacular looking chocolate cake
This was the biggest pile of pikelets I ever saw in my life..... we were wondering who had spent so many hours cooking them, until Kristy told us they were from Coles. They were delicious!
mmmmmm jam & cream...
Pavlova!!
I think the Ibis may have been a little confused by the flamingos

Weekend Lunch at home - fresh bread
I baked some delicious fresh bread using a packet of Laucke Crusty White Bread Pre-mix. The 600g bag - it makes up a nice big loaf of bread. We don't have a bread maker (which would be a dangerous thing...), so I just mixed it and made it by hand. Very easy, and very very tasty! All you do is mix 375ml of water with the contents of the pack, knead it, leave it to rise, punch it down and nead a little, put it into a tin, leave it to rise again and then bake it in a 200C oven. It only took about 30 minutes to cook in our oven, but it said on the website to bake for 40 minutes.

Sea World Food
There is a sign when you go into Sea World that says you are not permitted to bring in any food (although they did not check our bags....)
For Lunch, I had the only vegetarian item I could find - a cheese & salad roll. It was premade, so I had to have it as it came. It had Cheese, Tomato, Lettuce, Carrot & Cucumber (which I removed). Quite tasty, but too cheesy for my liking.
