Melbourne Zoo
Then we caught a tram to the Melbourne Zoo. We were a bit early, so we had to wander around aimessly for a while waiting for it to open!  The zoo was the place I really wanted to go to while we were in Melbourne. And I took about a million photos, so will share just a few here...

Abba World
The Abba World exhibition was really good! They had heaps of the actual costumes, instuments and other ABBA memorabillia, as well as interactive sections where you got to sing with ABBA, dance in a video clip etc etc. We had a great time!

Markets - Waller Park, Browns Plains

We have some brand new markets just down the road from us in Waller Park.  They were advertised as fresh fruit & vegies, craft , drinks, food, but our visit on the first day found many many vegies, which is a good thing - next time we will be prepared and not have just been grocery shopping!  These Markets are held on the last Saturday of every month from 6am-12pm, so will next be held this coming Saturday (31sh October).

Into Africa - Yeronga Park

A few weeks back (I have a backlog of posts...), we visited the Into Africa event at Yeronga Park which was held as part of the Brisbane Festival.

There were several stalls selling African goodies

We got henna tattoos on our hands - the woman doing them was quite amazing - so fast - I would like to use her skills to decorate cakes!!

the tattoos lasted for several days

For lunch, I had a "plate of everything" minus the meat dish - the flat bread was beautifully bubbled - it had a slightly sour taste to it, and was wonderful for scooping up the sauces of the other dishes. I particularly enjoyed the lentil dish!

Janet had the very African meal of a sausage in a roll.

Janet & Ali's Big Adventure Day 5 - Vancouver on the Trolley

Breakfast is in the Irish pub under our hotel - they have waffle irons and you can make your own waffle!!! So I did. Yummo!!

We bought tickets & caught the "bus" around to various atractions..

First stop, Stanley Park - very green. We walked around and saw some squirrels who didn't want to pose for a photo. We did manage to decipher the map and made it to the totem poles. Then back on the bus to Prospect Point, after a quick photo stop at the Lions Gate Bridge, which was designed by the same guy who did the Golden Gate.

Next stop was Granville Island. It was crowded in the market, but fun to wander around all the fruit, vegie, flower and fish stalls. We had lunch here too (inside in the warm)

Next stop China Town - we got a couple of cheap t shorts and checked out the garden.

It was great to have the on-off bus as it meant we got around to a lot of places. We ended up in Davies St and walked around the gay area before making our way back to the hotel for a relax before heading out for dinner of....................Pizza!!! I tried the ranch sauce on mine this time. Yum!!
